ChemSketch
ChemSketch is a free tool that allows you to build molecules using a ChemDraw type interface and then convert them to 3D structures for use with other packages. It has advantages over both Argus Lab and Gabedit in that its molecule building interface is much more intuitive. It does not have dedicated interfaces to software such as Gaussian and so structures would have to be imported into either of the other two programs in order to create input files.
ChemSketch has no facilities for visualizing the output from the computational chemistry packages on the facility.
As for the other visualization software, we would expect users to install ChemSketch on their PCs for use in building input.
Features
- Molecule builder (produce .mol files to import into other packages)
- Intuitive interface.
Will read ChemDraw files.
Downloading
ChemSketch, its documentation and tutorials are available as free downloads for Windows from the ACD Labs Website
